RDS Host에서 Licensing mode not configured 오류 해결 방법

증상

• 트레이에 Licensing mode for the Remote Desktop Session Host is not configured 경고가 뜬다.
• Event Viewer에 Microsoft-Windows-TerminalServices-Licensing 경고가 기록된다.
• grace period가 끝나면 RDS 접속이 끊길 수 있다.

원인

대부분은 RDS License Server 또는 Licensing Mode가 제대로 지정되지 않은 경우다. 새 RDS Farm 노드를 만들 때 이런 증상이 자주 보인다.

확인 방법

RD Licensing Diagnoser를 열면 라이선스 서버가 없거나, 라이선싱 모드가 설정되지 않았다는 메시지를 볼 수 있다.

해결 방법

1. GPO로 설정

가장 권장되는 방법이다.

Computer Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> Windows Components -> Remote Desktop Services -> Remote Desktop Session Host -> Licensing

• 라이선스 서버 주소 지정
• Per User 또는 Per Device 모드 지정

2. PowerShell로 설정

• LicensingMode = 2 → Per Device
• LicensingMode = 4 → Per User

주의

• Workgroup 환경에서는 Per Device만 사실상 사용 가능하다.
• 라이선스 서버 버전보다 새로운 CAL은 설치되지 않을 수 있다.
• 설정 후에는 RDSH를 재시작하고 RD Licensing Diagnoser로 확인한다.

정리

이 오류는 "RDS 라이선스 서버와 모드가 아직 확정되지 않았다"는 뜻이다. 서버와 모드만 제대로 잡아주면 대부분 해결된다.
